Hotels.com announces milestone 25 million mobile app downloads

Grows award-winning suite of apps with launch of new Kindle Fire app.

DALLAS – Hotels.com has announced that its suite of mobile apps have been downloaded more than 25 million times globally. In addition, the hotel experts launch a new app specifically for Kindle Fire. Users can download the app here and share where they plan to travel via #HotelsMobile on Twitter at @hotelsdotcom.

The new app enables customers using a Kindle Fire to easily and quickly search and book hotel accommodations, as well as check reservations, read customer reviews and search for exclusive mobile-only deals, all while on the go. The app also allows Hotels.com customers to access their Welcome Rewards account and store payment information.

The Kindle Fire launch is the latest in a series of innovations from the Hotels.com mobile team. Mobile app development has long been a priority for Hotels.com, as travelers are eager to have access to accommodation information right at their fingertips. Customers can now find the Hotels.com app across all of their mobile devices, including iOS for iPhone and iPad, Android and Windows Phone, as well as more broadly through several development partnerships with Samsung and Ford.

“We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all product design and user experience, and this launch demonstrates that,” said Steven Quach, online marketing director for Hotels.com. “Our customers stretch across all mobile device platforms, so we recognize that consumers with different product needs and hardware preference deserve an optimized experience.”

“Kindle’s mix of corporate and personal tablet users coincides nicely with our diverse customer base and we’re excited to now have dedicated designs for the top three tablet share leaders and operating systems,” continued Quach. “From here the plan is to implement a truly adaptive core architecture so that our customers get the best experience regardless of device, screen size, OS, native app or tablet web.”

The Hotels.com apps offer customers access to more than 240,000 hotels worldwide in more than 25,000 destinations, more than 20,000 last minute deals, more than 7 million verified guest reviews and last-minute hotels rooms close to their location.
