Last October Movenpick Hotels & Resorts took over the Voile d’Or Resort & Spa on the basis of a management contract with the proprietor company Salt Lake Resorts Ltd. Now Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI), a leading hotel & resort acquisition and development company and partner in Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, has acquired the Hotel on Mauritius to become the new owners of this first-rate holiday resort in the Indian Ocean. The acquisition has also resulted in a change in the Hotel’s name: the term Voile d’Or is to be omitted, and the resort will now be called Movenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius.
After Movenpick Hotels & Resorts took over the holiday resort an interesting investment opportunity presented itself for Kingdom Hotel Investments, and we’re delighted to be associated with it, says Jean Gabriel Peres, President & CEO Movenpick Hotels & Resorts.
We’re very pleased that the Movenpick Resort & Spa Mauritius now complements our portfolio, adds Sarmad Zok, CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments. The acquisition is entirely in keeping with our strategy of investing in hotel projects with a strong growth potential. Mauritius is a key player in the development of tourism in the Indian Ocean, and this Hotel is a first-rate establishment in a paradise setting.
