limehome signs contract for 60 units in the up-and-coming Hamburg-Hammerbrook district.

MUNICH – limehome, the leading technology-based provider and operator of fully digitalized design apartments in Europe, is opening 60 new units in the up-and-coming Hamburg-Hammerbrook district in summer 2026, thus setting another milestone in its expansion in northern Germany. The building, which is specially designed for serviced apartments, will be built in accordance with the latest KfW 40 standards in a climate-friendly manner and will offer one- to two-bedroom apartments on a total of six floors.

“The Hamburg metropolitan region impresses with its diverse culture and history, as well as its advanced infrastructure as an important business location. With this project, we are strengthening our presence in northern Germany. At the same time, the new building underlines our aim to play a pioneering role in the accommodation sector. We not only stand for technological innovation with our consistent digital first approach. We also want to set a good example in the area of sustainability,” says Matthias J. Maas, Head of Expansion at limehome.

For the first time, limehome has concluded a deal with project developers Dr. Jan Aschenbeck and Berend Aschenbeck, Managing Directors of Aschenbeck & Aschenbeck Projektentwicklung GmbH. They see a clear advantage in the cooperation with limehome: “The serviced apartments offer travelers independence and comfort with privacy and close the gap between hotel offers and private vacation apartments. The high-quality interior design by limehome creates a feel-good atmosphere in a temporary home, whether for a few days or months. All rooms are also equipped with a kitchenette. The digital check-in and check-out is another advantage, as it means no waiting times for guests.”

The Hammerbrook district of Hamburg boasts first-class public transport connections and the most important local suppliers in the immediate vicinity. It is only 10 to 15 minutes by bus and train from the new limehome location to Hamburg Central Station, while Hamburg Airport can be reached within 30 minutes on foot via Berliner Tor station. The design apartments are between 21 and 44 square meters in size and have their own terraces on the upper floors.

The climate-friendly new building, which limehome occupies as the sole tenant, does not require any fossil fuels. In addition to the green roof, it is equipped with a photovoltaic system that supplies the building with its own electricity. Room cooling and ventilation as well as electric sun protection on the windows will ensure a pleasant indoor climate in future. On the first floor, there will be a lounge area, luggage lockers and parking spaces for cars and bicycles. A mobility concept for the use of cargo bikes and e-bikes rounds off the sustainable concept.
