Marshall Hotels & Resorts adds three management contracts to rapidly expanding portfolio

The new properties include the 187-room Holiday Inn Pittsburgh-Monroeville in Pa., the 197-room Lafayette Yard Hotel & Conference Center in Trenton, N.J., and the 440-room Ramada Kissimmee Maingate West in Fla.

SALISBURY, MD. – Marshall Hotels & Resorts, Inc. announced that it added three hotel management contracts to its rapidly expanding portfolio, marking eight new additions this year. The new properties include the 187-room Holiday Inn Pittsburgh-Monroeville in Pa., the 197-room Lafayette Yard Hotel & Conference Center in Trenton, N.J., and the 440-room Ramada Kissimmee Maingate West in Fla.

“While each of these hotels had very specific needs of their own, they all required an experienced management team to help them achieve their goals,” said Mike Marshall, president and CEO. “Whether it was new ownership requiring an overall operations gameplan or  an existing ownership group wishing to move in a different direction, Marshall’s ability to move quickly and work hand-in-hand with owners is what set us apart from the competition.”

Located on Route 192 between Interstate 4 and Highway 429, the Ramada Kissimmee Maingate West is proximate to Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios and numerous other tourist attractions in downtown Orlando. Guest rooms are equipped with refrigerators and high-speed Internet access. The pet-friendly hotel also provides a state-of-the-art fitness center; heated, indoor pool with a waterfall and Jacuzzi; heated outdoor pool and pool bar; and a game room. “While the property benefits from an ideal location and strong occupancy, our mission here is to raise the hotel’s Average Daily Rate (ADR) to bring it in line with its competitive set,” Marshall stated.

Formerly the Trenton Marriott, the Lafayette Yard Hotel & Conference Center is within easy walking distance of the U.S. Federal Court, New Jersey state government offices and both the New Jersey State Supreme Court and the Mercer County Court. Leisure travelers will be drawn to nearby destinations such as Arm & Hammer Park (home of the Trenton Thunder), the Sun National Bank Center, Six Flags Great Adventure and Sesame Place.

Hotel amenities include 37” flat screen televisions, robust High Speed Internet Access, a Grab and Go market featuring Starbucks coffee, and state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities, as well as Archives Restaurant and Lounge. “We have been tasked with working with the city, which owns the hotel, to help stabilize the property and evaluate it’s franchise situation,” Marshall explained. “In the coming days and weeks, we will begin to determine whether or not to remain independent or select a new flag.”

Twenty minutes from major attractions like Kennywood Amusement Park, Carnegie Science Center and Heinz Field, the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh-Monroeville is situated just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike and near area businesses, including Westinghouse, Siemens and the Philips Company. The hotel offers free, wired and wireless, high-speed Internet access in every room, a 24-hour business center and 5,308 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space. “We have worked with the new ownership group every step of the way as they navigated the purchase process,” Marshall noted. “We look forward to helping the hotel achieve its rightful place as a market leader.”
