Tourism is the ‘backbone of recovery’ for Greece says HotelBrain founder

Supported by the fact that tourism represents 18% of the Greek GDP – the room for growth, support and sustainability has been at the forefront of the recovery strategy.

Following the economic woes the country has faced in recent years, Greece is firmly on the up when it comes to tourism. In-bound figures have reached record-breaking highs at an increase of 20% and hotels welcomed the influx of arrivals by officially extending their operating season (early April – beginning of November).

Supported by the fact that tourism represents 18% of the Greek GDP – the room for growth, support and sustainability has been at the forefront of the recovery strategy.

The renewed focus has also given rise to innovate business models such as HotelBrain. Now, Greece’s largest hotel management company, it’s paving the way for a tourism boom by supporting and improving existing hotels, managing the branding, operating systems/programmes with the aim of bringing exceptional customer service on every level to every guest.

The company recently received industry recognition for its continued effort and support within the travel industry at the 21st World Travel Awards (held for the first time in Athens); scooping up the prestigious travel industry equivalent to the ‘Oscar’ for the “Leading Hotel Management Company.”

In addition three of its managed hotels under the company’s wing, were also awarded the following: Bill & Coo Suites & Lounge, Leading Luxury All Suites Hotel Award; Katikies Hotel, Leading Boutique Hotel Award and Kirini Suites & Spa, Leading Boutique Spa Hotel Award.

HotelBrain Founder and President, Panos Paleologos said: “Our ethos and philosophy is to not only to drive the quality and experience offered by our managed hotels but also to look at the bigger picture.”

“Tourism is the backbone of the economic recovery and we are focused on doing our bit to improve and build on services offered by the very best luxury, hotels in Greece in order to promote the destination as a whole. While our operation started off modest in size, the expanding growth rate proves that hotels are investing in their longevity and service and therefore backing the economic recovery.”
