The Westminster Venue Collection, which includes some of London’s finest event spaces, helps organisers explore, shortlist, and compare member venues, ensuring their needs are met through the provision of the most relevant venue solution. In turn, this not only saves time, it also allows for the creation of more in-depth relationships between the buyer and supplier sides of the industry.
Over 100 corporate and agency event organisers gathered at the London Transport Museum for the Westminster Venue Collection’s Annual Showcase and 20th anniversary celebration.
The showcase gave organisers the opportunity to discover and experience firsthand 29 Westminster venues – including new members One Birdcage Walk, Events at The Hippodrome, Sofitel and St John Smith Square.
The theme of the event was ‘History on Every Corner’ and celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Collection by exploring the rich history of Westminster and its venues. To mark the anniversary past board members spanning the last 20 years attended as special guests.
“The board is delighted with the success of the showcase; positive feedback has been flooding in since the event,” said Barbara Wutte, Chair of the Westminster Venues Collection. “It was a pleasure to celebrate 20 years of the great Westminster Venue Collection and see attendees discover how wonderful a place Westminster is to host events.”
“The event was extremely useful and great for networking, meeting existing venue suppliers as well as being introduced to new one,” said Christine Streckewald at EMS Destination Management Ltd.
Guests arrived from 6.30pm and walked up the candle lit staircase and over the bridge to experience a breathtaking bird’s eye view of the venue and exhibitors. WVC Chair Barbara Wutte welcomed everyone to the event and then guests were treated to a delicious selection of canapés and bowl food served by caterers Food by Dish. Raffle prizes, including hampers and champagne kindly donated by members, were awarded to guests. Organisers who connected with the most members on the night were also awarded with fantastic prizes.
The AV supplier for the evening was Light Motif; furniture was from Eventhire UK; interactive tablets were from Giant iTab and photography was by Matt Chung.
