The Conscious Travel Foundation puts accessibility on the agenda at PURE Life Experiences 2023

Taking place at Opera House on Sunday 10th September.

The Conscious Travel Foundation, a global community of travel businesses on a positive impact journey, is putting accessible travel on the agenda at PURE Life Experiences 2023, the world’s leading experiential travel show.  Taking place in Marrakech, PURE guests are invited to join the “Access All Areas: Time To Put Accessible Travel First” panel session on the Maverick Stage at Open House on Sunday 10th September at 12.30pm.

With 15% of the world’s population now living with some form of disability, opting not to prioritise accessible travel is no longer an option.  Hoteliers, destinations, tour operators and travel businesses must shift the focus on accessibility from being an afterthought to becoming an integral part of their designs, marketing and operations, while also fostering a culture of compassion and empathy.

The Conscious Travel Foundation’s panel, ‘Access All Areas: Time To Put Accessible Travel First’ will consist of broadcaster and disability campaigner Sophie Morgan, ÀNI Private Resorts’ CMO Henny Frazer, and Dive Butler International’s Founder Alexis Vincent.  The panellists will talk at PURE for the first time about how the industry can, and must, create truly inclusive travel experiences.

Speaker Sophie, will also touch on her own personal experience of living with a disability following her car crash at eighteen years old, where she was left paralysed.  However, through perseverance and sheer determination, Sophie has since evolved as a successful broadcaster, author, and award-winning advocate for disability rights.

Alongside her role as a mentor for The Conscious Travel Foundation, Sophie is also an avid traveller, co-founder of the Rights on Flights campaign and a Global Ambassador for Can-Am and Airbnb.  She has also recently started writing about inclusive travel in her monthly column for Condé Nast Traveller.

Sophie is also a Global Ambassador for PADI, where she worked with Alexis to gain her PADI scuba dive qualification with Dive Butler International at Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences, the world’s first accessibility and inclusion certified resort.  Despite her disability, the transformative underwater experience made Sophie feel liberated and free to move effortlessly, thanks to the care of the Dive Butler team.

Henny and the team at ÀNI Private Resorts also pride themselves on creating accessible and inclusive experiences for all guests.  Each resort is designed with wheelchair users in mind, ensuring that the luxury aesthetic is never compromised. Offering step-free access and pool lifts to adapting itineraries to suit individual requirements, the aim is to eliminate barriers and restrictions and create memorable holidays.
