The President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Mr. Salvatore Sciacchitano, and the President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Dr. Ahmed Hasnah, have signed an agreement that aims to establish a framework of collaboration for the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and best practices on innovation.

The signing ceremony, which took place on 25 November 2023, was attended by the Minister of Transport of Qatar, H.E. Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.

Under the agreement, ICAO and HBKU will endeavour to cooperate on a broad range of aviation topics, encompassing key priorities such as the response to the climate emergency, the safe and secure integration of emerging aviation technologies like drones, cyber security and cyber resilience, and optimising air transport’s role as a catalyst for sustainable development.
