Air Transat boosts services to Toronto and Montreal for summer 2020

For summer 2020, the airline will double the frequency of its London Gatwick to Toronto service to twice daily, and increase its Gatwick to Montreal flights from three to five times weekly.

LONDON – Air Transat, the 2019 Skytrax World’s Best Leisure Airline, is introducing more choice for consumers from the UK and Ireland with an expansion of services to Toronto and Montreal for summer 2020.

For summer 2020, the airline will double the frequency of its London Gatwick to Toronto service to twice daily, and increase its Gatwick to Montreal flights from three to five times weekly, with many of the flights operated by the airline’s new, state-of-the-art Airbus A321neo LR aircraft.

Air Transat is also increasing capacity on its routes from Glasgow and Dublin to Toronto, where it is phasing out the Airbus A310 and replacing it with an all-A330 service from Glasgow five times weekly, and a mix of A330 and A321neo LR services from Dublin five times a week. The airline will also continue to offer an all-A330 five times weekly service from Manchester to Toronto.

For summer 2020, Air Transat will offer over 30 direct flights every week from the UK and Ireland to destinations across Canada. 

Economy Class flights to Toronto for summer 2020 start from £341 return.

Toronto is a major Canadian metropolis and with a buzzing arts and entertainment scene, and the gateway to explore Ontario and other parts of Eastern Canada. There are fun-filled Toronto festivals throughout the spring and summer months. Canadian Music Week sees the country’s best musicians perform at dozens of venues around the city, whilst the TD Toronto Jazz Festival is a popular, 10-day musical event, and the Toronto International Film Festival attracts some of the biggest stars in the world.

Montreal hosts a  series of summertime festivals that attract thousands of locals and visitors to its streets. For music lovers, the Montreal International Jazz Festival is the largest in the world, whilst the annual Formula 1 Grand Prix race is perfect for adrenaline seekers. Montreal has the highest number of restaurants per capita in Canada, with a huge choice of diverse international menus.

Air Transat’s 199-seat Airbus A321neo LR offers a choice of Club Class and Economy, and consumes over 15 per cent less fuel, generates 50 per cent less noise in the cabin and communities, produces about 5,000 fewer tonnes of CO2 a year and lowers NOX emissions by 50 per cent when compared to previous generation Airbus aircraft. 

Passengers travelling in Economy Class will enjoy more personal space with wider seats and improved comfort with natural leather seats and state-of-the-art in-seat entertainment systems with 10-inch individual touch screens and USB ports to charge personal electronic devices.

In the newly re-designed 12-seat Club Class cabin, passengers will benefit from personalised service, gourmet meals, natural leather seats with a leg rest for maximum comfort and wider 13-inch touch screens.
