airBaltic boosts Connectivity from Riga, offering more than 300 destinations with one stop

airBaltic will also launch eight new direct routes – five from Riga and three from Tallinn.

RIGA – In summer season 2019, which will begin on March 31, airBaltic will enable passengers to choose from more than 300 destinations with one stop by using its partner airlines. In addition, airBaltic will launch eight new direct routes – five from Riga and three from Tallinn.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “The busy summer season will start already this month. As we continue to receive new aircraft, we can further develop our network and serve additional destinations as well as add more frequencies on the most popular existing routes. We are well aware of what the market demands, and we are here to provide the best connectivity to and from Riga."

“The most popular new destinations from Riga so far have been Stuttgart, Dublin and Greek island Kos. Ultimately, we aim to connect Riga and the Baltics with one stop to almost any destination in the world,” Martin Gauss added.

airBaltic to Recruit 50 Technicians in 2019
airBaltic continues its expansion and is looking to attract 50 technicians in 2019 for its maintenance facilities at Riga International Airport and Tallinn Airport.

Andris Vaivads, SVP Technical Operations of airBaltic: “We are improving our maintenance capabilities, and plan to perform C checks on the Airbus A220-300 by the end of the year ourselves. In addition, we already perform line maintenance and A checks on all of our aircraft.”

“airBaltic has set a clear path towards acquiring up to 80 Airbus A220-300 aircraft by 2024. As our fleet is growing with state-of-the-art aircraft, joining our team would lead to interesting career opportunities for both young and experienced professionals alike,” Andris Vaivads added.

airBaltic is seeking technicians from various backgrounds, providing each successful candidate with an established career path. Airline is recruiting certified aircraft technicians as well as non-certified aircraft technicians and mechanics. In addition, airBaltic is eager to employ technicians-apprentices starting from their second year of studies. airBaltic provides all the training necessary for performing work duties.
