WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA - Pleasant Holidays and its luxury brand, Journese, announced the appointment of Chris Ames as their new Destination Marketing Manager, Mexico, Central & South America. Ames, a travel industry professional for more than 20 years, has extensive experience with the destinations as well as in the tour operator and package vacation market, including roles in product, sales and marketing.
As Destination Marketing Manager for Pleasant Holidays and Journese, Ames is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies with a variety of suppliers. These include resort brands, tourist boards and visitor bureaus, activity vendors, airlines and more for the Mexico, Central and South America product portfolios for both brands.
Since the original introduction of Mexico vacations in 1993, Pleasant Holidays and Journese have continued to expand their product line, which now includes spectacular beaches and fascinating sights in 15 popular Mexico vacation destinations; more than 300 resorts, including all-inclusive, adults-only and family-friendly options; condos, villas and private resort residences; commissionable activities and more. Originally from Arizona, Ames first fell in love with Mexico during his childhood. Growing up just nine city blocks from the border, the country felt like an extension of his back yard and as familiar as his home town. As his career in the travel industry fostered greater exploration, the affection not only deepened, but expanded to include favorite destinations in Costa Rica and beyond.
