A monthly Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade`s economic report said that the number of tourists coming to Egypt increased remarkably in the first 11 months of last year.
Egypt received 7.518 million tourists in the first 11 months of 2004, compared to 6.44 million in the same period in 2003, said the report, adding that tourists spent 76.683 million nights here between January and November last year, 23.553 million nights more than in the same period in 2003.
At the same time, the average period a tourist spends in Egypt rose from 9.4 nights in 2003 to 10.7 nights in 2004, the report added, stressing that Egypt`s revenues from tourism increased by $2.111 billion or 29.2 per cent between 1st January 2004 and 30th September 2004.
