Air Astana enhances summer schedule with new frequency from London Heatrow

Kazakh flag carrier adds Ulan Bator and Tehran to network in June.

Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s award winning national airline returns to the Business Travel Show in London to highlight some enhancements to its summer schedule. The first is a new, fourth weekly service from London Heathrow to Astana, commencing June 2nd. The new service will operate from Terminal 4 at 17.15 on Mondays, complementing the existing Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday schedule.

Being an overnight flight Air Astana will be offering its popular Economy Sleeper Class on its Boeing 757s in addition to Business and Economy Class. The Economy Sleeper, launched last year, enables passengers to rest and sleep in a lie flat position, by combining three economy seats. The Economy Sleeper Class cabin is completely separate from Business and Economy Class cabins, with up to 12 seats available on each flight – and attractively priced at the equivalent full economy class fare.  Passengers enjoy Air Astana’s Skytrax 4 Star award winning levels of service throughout the cabin.

Air Astana is also introducing its new direct, three times weekly service to Mongolia’s capital city, Ulan Bator from Kazakhstan’s capital early in June. Lead in return Economy Class fares from London Heathrow are competitively priced at £494.

Passengers departing on Saturdays can enjoy just one short connection via Astana in a flight journey time of just over 11 hours. Additionally, on the return Air Astana is offering a complimentary one night stay in Astana including breakfast and transfers (based on twin occupancy) for London-bound passengers departing Ulan Bator on Mondays.

Mongolia’s rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscapes are proving a draw for UK tour groups who are constantly on the lookout for somewhere a little different for their clients.

Another new destination on the Air Astana network, effective June 2nd is Tehran. Air Astana will launch a new direct service to Iran’s capital from Almaty on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The new service will be served by Airbus A320 aircraft.
