Launch of Belavia-Belarusian Airlines flights between Minsk, Budapest and Belgrade.

Budapest Airport
has announced the launch of a new schedule that will link the East European cities of Minsk in Belarus, Belgrade in Serbia and Budapest, Hungary. The new year round service will begin on 19 September 2013 and will be operated by the Belarusian Airline, Belavia and is the fourth new airline to announce routes into Budapest this year. The twice weekly schedule will be flown predominantly on Bombardier CRJ-100/200 aircraft on Mondays and Thursdays.

The new route serves to connect the three capital cities with flights linking Minsk to Belgrade and Budapest for the first time, in addition to creating regular links between Budapest and Belgrade The announcement further strengthens the expanding number of Eastern European cities accessible from the Central European Hub airport at Budapest and serves to provide a new passenger base with a wide range of international connections through Budapest.

“We’re delighted to welcome Belavia as the latest airline to plan operations into Budapest Airport and anticipate the route will provide a much needed link between the three cities. This latest route quickly follows the announcement Bulgaria Air’s Budapest to Sofia route, operated, and further demonstrates Budapest Airport’s strength as a Central European hub,” commented Kam Jandu, Aviation Director for Budapest Airport.

“We anticipate that this unique schedule connecting these three key cities will be attractive to both the business and tourism sectors. Hungarian, Belarusian and Serbian travel agencies and flight providers will also welcome the additional services that will expand the connections available at Budapest and provide a new transit option through Minsk,” said Anatoly Gusarov, Director General, Belavia – Belarusian Airlines.
