CIE Tours debuts new daytripper itinerary to Scotland

Six-day guided vacation allows travelers to unpack once before enjoying iconic Scottish highlights.

A daytripper-style itinerary blends group excursions with built-in free time for individual exploration.

MORRISTOWN, NJ – CIE Tours, leading tour operator of guided vacations to Ireland and Britain, introduces the new 2024 Scottish Daytripper itinerary available for departures starting March 2024. This innovative tour provides travelers an opportunity to explore the dramatic landscapes of Scotland in a series of daytrips with the convenience of a single “home” hotel.

The six-day itinerary begins in Glasgow, where guests unpack their bags once at their homebase for the trip, The Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel in the heart of the city’s West End area. After a tour of the city’s highlights, travelers venture out on a whisky walking tour with visits to two pubs.

The next five days offer a mix of stunning scenery, ancient castles, charming villages, and vibrant cities, making it an ideal choice for guests looking to maximize their time and immerse themselves in a variety of sights. Iconic stops along the way include a step back in time to the world of Scotland’s Renaissance kings and queens at Stirling Castle; the picturesque highland and lowland landscape of the Isle of Arran; Edinburgh Castle, home to the Scottish Crown Jewels; a scenic cruise around Loch Lomond; and much more.

A daytripper-style itinerary blends group excursions with built-in free time for individual exploration. Throughout the trip, the group stays in Glasgow, allowing guests to foster a deeper connection with the community and offering opportunities to uncover hidden local gems while gaining an understanding of the city’s way of life. Plus, CIE Tours offers the option to extend the vacation with pre- or post-nights in Glasgow with negotiated hotel rates for added convenience and flexibility.

CIE Tours offers a lineup of itineraries with the daytripper format giving travelers more time to explore destinations without the need to pack and unpack along the way. Also new for 2024, CIE Tours’ Tuscan Treasures with Cinque Terre guided vacation takes guests on an eight-day journey through the Italian countryside with Montecatini Terme as the base to explore. Other daytripper style options include six days based in London with the London Daytripper or a week staying in the village of Adare on the Ireland South Daytripper.

CIE Tours offers more than 40 escorted tour itineraries to Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, Iceland, and Italy in 2024. Escorted tours range from five-day trips of one country to a 16-day trip that encompasses the highlights of Scotland and Ireland. Travelers can count on CIE Tours’ All-In Inclusive Advantage which guarantees that every experience, and most meals, are included per the itinerary.
