MORRISTOWN, N.J. – Scotland’s Heritage, a partnership of 27 major Scottish tourism partners, recently presented CIE Tours International with the Scotland’s Heritage “Travel Operator of the Year” award at VisitScotland Expo in Glasgow. Collectively, Scotland’s Heritage represents over 800 of Scotland’s top visitor attractions, including many found on CIE Tours’ popular dedicated Scotland tours. These attractions are also included on CIE Tours’ combined Ireland/Scotland packages, which are among the company’s top-ten best-selling vacations.

Launching the Scotland’s Heritage Travel Operator of the Year award, group spokesman and Historic Scotland’s Sales Manager, Graeme Bowie stated, “We wanted to acknowledge the importance the travel trade plays in the success of our businesses and the key role it plays in promoting us across the globe delivering vital advance bookings to our visitor attractions.  The contribution of all CIE Tours’ personnel has been fantastic over the years. They constantly develop new tours and keep Scotland up there as a prime vacation destination. It is very fitting that they receive this first award.”

Dennis Savage, Senior Vice President of CIE Tours said of receiving the prestigious recognition, “In the past 10 years we have expanded our coach tours program with a strong Scottish content from 5 to 12 coaches per week. Over the same period passenger numbers have grown from 2,200 to 8,500 on brochure tours alone, with most of that growth over the past four years.” Mr. Savage added, “As a niche operator to Ireland and Britain, we have always felt a great affinity with our Celtic cousins across the water. We are grateful for the tremendous support of all sectors of Scottish tourism, including most of the Scotland’s Heritage partners, and feel that we have formed a strong symbiotic bond. Our entire team at CIE Tours are overjoyed with the prestigious accolade that you have awarded to us.”
