Edinburgh Airport strengthens top team with new Aviation Director

Ex Ryanair Executive joins at a “critical time”.

Edinburgh Airport has recruited a new Aviation Director. Kate Sherry, formerly Director of Route Development at Ryanair, will oversee the airport’s recovery from the impact of the current pandemic, taking over the vital role of managing airline relationships and ensuring that Scotland’s largest airport retains and grows its connectivity in the coming years.

Joining the airport’s Executive Team, Kate will report to Chief Executive Gordon Dewar. Gordon Dewar said: “To have someone of Kate’s calibre joining us at this critical time is fantastic news for the airport and the city. We need the very best people to make sure that the impacts of Covid-19 on our airline partners at Edinburgh Airport are minimised and that we can recover as quickly as possible when the opportunity arises.

“Kate is hugely skilled and experienced. She offers an airline’s perspective which will be incredibly valuable as we work with carriers to rebuild.”

Kate Sherry, Edinburgh Airport’s new Aviation Director, said: “Edinburgh Airport’s success story in the past decade has been well recognised across the industry. As aviation faces such challenging times, I’m looking forward to joining this great team to assist in continuing that success and ensuring that the airport and Scotland are as well connected as they can be in the recovery.”
