Asiana Airlines and AVIAREPS agree on co-operation for further three markets

AVIAREPS has been appointed by Asiana Airlines as their General Sales Agent (GSA) in three more markets: Italy, Spain and Portugal. With this latest agreement the world’s leading airline and tourism representative is now acting on behalf of the renowned Korean carrier in ten European countries altogether.

The renowned and multiple award-winning Star Alliance member offers connections from three European cities to Korea: Asiana Airlines flies daily from Frankfurt (Germany), four times a week from London (UK) and three times a week from Paris (France) to the South Korean capital Seoul.

This year Asiana Airlines received the title Airline of the Year from ATW (Air Transport World). The carrier’s excellent safety record, service and financial management in particular were crucial factors in its nomination. It also received the Five Star Airline ranking for two consecutive years from the world-renowned airline research group Skytrax.

Established in 1988, Asiana Airlines started with a domestic flight service which connected the South Korean capital Seoul with the cities Busan and Gwangju. After a rapid expansion of their domestic route map, the carrier started to fly to its first international destination just two years after its foundation. Today Asiana Airlines serves 82 destinations in 20 countries. Asiana Airlines currently uses a fleet of 71 aircraft of the type Airbus and Boeing.

Mr. Il Nam Jin, General Manager at Asiana Airlines in France, emphasises that the recent appointment reflects the importance of Europe for the airline’s growth: “We firmly believe that the dynamic, engaged staff at AVIAREPS will be fantastic representatives for us and will greatly contribute to the airline’s success in Italy, Spain and Portugal. The sales staff in these countries have vast experience in promoting long-haul destinations and quality products, which makes them a great fit for Asiana Airlines.”

Oliver Kuechler, COO Aviation of AVIAREPS, adds: “We are very proud to increasingly support Asiana Airlines as General Sales Agent (GSA) in the important aviation market of Europe. With our new appointment for Italy, Spain and Portugal, the well-established Korean carrier is pinning its trust on the excellent sales-boosting know-how of AVIAREPS.”
