Expanded World deals holiday programme launched

Etihad Holidays, a division of Etihad Airways, has launched its largest ever selection of ‘World Deals’ packages to destinations in Australia, Asia, Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East.

The October edition of World Deals contains more than 100 special offers at 116 hotels across the globe. Destinations featured in the World Deals programme include the new Etihad destinations of Cape Town and Chicago as well as football packages to watch Manchester City.

World Deals also features an extended travel period allowing customers until the end of January 2010 to take their holiday. Among the plethora of packages are breaks to Thailand from
Dhs 2,760; Cyprus from Dhs 1,940; and Malaysia from Dhs 3,195.

Peter Baumgartner, Etihad Airways’ chief commercial officer, said: "In addition to this being our biggest range of holidays, the October edition of World Deals is also the first time we have offered customers an extended period of four months in which they can travel. This flexibility, as well as the fantastic prices on offer, should ensure the October World Deals is our most popular to date.”

Other highlights include two night stays in Istanbul from Dhs 2,210, Athens from Dhs 2,770 and three nights in Amman from Dhs 2,875. Prices include all applicable taxes and surcharges.

“Hot deals” in the programme include the Park Hyatt Chicago from Dhs 6,695 for three nights; three nights at the Hotel Le Vendome in Cape Town from Dhs 3,940 and the Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort and Spa Langkawi in Malaysia from Dhs 4,305, also for three nights.

Etihad Holidays is also offering six special weekend packages to watch Etihad-sponsored Manchester City Football Club play in the Barclays Premier League Packages, including ties with Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers.

Two night packages with breakfast start from Dhs 4,655 per person and include match-day tickets, a replica Manchester City shirt, return economy flights from Abu Dhabi, and all applicable taxes and surcharges.

Deals to Thailand, one of Etihad’s most popular destinations, include the four star Imperial Queens Park in Bangkok from Dhs 2,670 for a three night stay and the five star Grand Sukhumvit Hotel from Dhs 2,985.

Also on offer is three nights at the Novotel Phuket from Dhs 3,345. In addition to return flights from Abu Dhabi to Bangkok, Phuket holiday deals also include return flights to the island of Phuket with Etihad’s codeshare partner Bangkok Airways.

Elsewhere in the Far East, breaks are on offer to hotels in Kuala Lumpur as well as beach holidays in Penang and Langkawi, Malaysia.

Etihad Airways launched flights to Cyprus in June 2009 and since then it has been very popular with holidaymakers from the UAE and across the Middle East. Etihad customers can spend two nights at the luxurious Elysium hotel, a five star deluxe hotel.

Also available in Cyprus are packages to the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Limassol and Le Meridien Limassol Spa and Resort. All hotels in Cyprus offer complimentary breakfast and airport transfers.

Within the Middle East, breaks are on offer to Muscat in Oman, with prices starting from
Dhs 2,950 for two nights at the Shangri La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, as well as hotels in Amman and the Dead Sea in Jordan. Holidays are also available in European favourites London, Paris and Munich.
