Brits escape gloomy Britain for cheap Easter holidays abroad

Ηoliday sales are up nearly 40% and turnover up 110% for Easter holidays abroad this year compared to last, showing that despite the turbulent economic climate, Brits are increasingly seeking cheap ways to escape the doom and gloom of reality Britain.

The UK’s fastest growing independent online travel agent sunshine.co.uk has seen a 110% increase in turnover for Easter holidays this year compared to last, with almost a 40% increase in bookings for the two weeks surrounding the Easter break. This reveals that more Brits are leaving their debts and work stresses at home and heading off for some affordable sun, sea and relaxation.

Despite the recession and the lack of disposable income for luxuries such as holidays, sunshine.co.uk has gone from strength to strength, with bookings and turnover increasing dramatically over the last 12 months.

Chris Brown, Managing Director of sunshine.co.uk said; “Once again we are delighted to be able to announce our continuous growth. We hear of so many companies struggling through this volatile economy but for us our ethos has not failed; cheap, affordable holidays, offering Brits a much-deserved break.”

Brown continues; “A bargain get-away is becoming the nations solution in the midst of this economic nightmare and what better way to forget about home or work stresses than relaxing on a beach or lazing by a pool? It seems Brits are after some escapism and are fed up of hearing about just how bad the current situation is.”
