Cardiff has been revealed as one of the cheapest cities in the UK to visit in a recent report from The Office of National Statistics (ONS), and with the launch of a new Cardiff discount card, visitors to the region will be able to benefit from even further savings.

The study from the ONS, published in February, shows that prices in Wales are lower than any other region in the UK, with prices in the South East of England being the highest.

The new Cardiff and Capital Region card, launched to help celebrate Cardiff`s centenary as a city and 50th year as capital of Wales, offers savings to popular attractions such as Cardiff Castle, the Millennium Stadium and Cosmeston Medieval Village, as well as offering discounts to restaurants and shops in Cardiff.

Richard Jones, general manager of The Cardiff Initiative, said: Visitors to Cardiff are often surprised at how low prices are compared to cities like London.

Cardiff has a very compact city centre, so there is no need to pay for expensive transport to get around, and attractions such as the National Museum and Gallery and the Museum of Welsh Life have free admission.

Now, with this new savings card, Cardiff represents even better value for money, as visitors to the region will also be able to save money on souvenirs, dining out, tours and all the best attractions.
