They are looking for quality, alternative ideas to the classical tours, a good quality-price ratio and more willingness to overcome the chronic problem of too short a season. These are the issues the international tour operators interested in buying Italy and distributing it in their own countries, will pack into their luggage when they come to Rimini on 11th and 12th October.

With only four months to go to TTI over 160 operators have already confirmed they will attend the b2b inbound workshop organised by TTG Italia. And by October it is expected there will be over 300 of them from 43 countries.

Italy will be represented by 249 exhibitors representing some 400 companies and institutions including regional tourism agencies, tour operators, hotels chains and consortiums on an area of 6,600 square meters in the modern and functional pavilions of the Rimini fair grounds.

Buyers and sellers will carry out transactions according to a schedule of pre-set meetings. The aim being to optimise the time available and give everyone a chance to aim only at those contacts which are of interest to their own specific business needs, says the workshop`s project manager Elena Di Tondo. A formula which last year meant over 15,000 business appointments in two days.

One of the most interesting innovations this year is the fact that ENIT will present its 2003 promotions at the event and this means that the Ministry for Infrastructure and Transport has allowed the international tour operators attending the show a 75% discount on international Alitalia flights.

An extensive area will feature the best of what Italy has to offer in the line of gastronomic tourism. An area for the promotion of typical Italian wines and foods will be set up inside the workshop, in collaboration with the Citta del Vino Welcome and with the National Association of Wine Cities, says Di Tondo.
