Number of airBaltic passengers grows by 7% in October

Latvian airline airBaltic carried overall 277,256 passengers in October 2010 (from Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn), representing 7% increase comparing with the same month in 2009, when airBaltic transported 258,513 passengers.

During the first ten months of 2010, airBaltic transported a total of 2,796,580 passengers, or 20% more than during the same period in 2009, when the total number of passengers was 2,334,247.

In October, airBaltic operated 4,528 flights, or 9% more than in October 2009 when airBaltic operated 4,158 flights. Between January and the end of October, the airline provided 48,093 flights in all, representing 26% increase comparing with the same period in 2009.

The airline’s load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of available seats, in October 2010 was at a level of 73% – or 3% point more than in October 2009. During the first ten months of 2010 airline’s load factor was at a level of 69%, or the same level as in the same period in 2009.

The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic was at a level of 84.1% in October 2010. This means that more than 84 of every 100 airBaltic flights in October departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.
