Every year’s Slovene tourist stock market, for the fifth time organised by the Slovene Tourist Board, known abroad as SIW (Slovenian Incoming Workshop), is going to take place between 17th and 19th October 2002 in the Grand Hotel Union in Ljubljana.

The Slovene tourist offer, consisting of 98 Slovene tourist companies (140 participants) will meet 185 foreign companies, represented by 253 travel organisers, agents and transporters from 21 countries (Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Croatia, India, Italy, Israel, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Macedonia, Germany, The Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Great Britain and the USA). As far as foreign partners are concerned, most of them are coming from Germany (as many as 50 companies), followed by the Italians with 23 companies, the USA with 20 companies and Austria and Great Britain with 13 travel organisers. This year great interest has also been shown in Israel for the first time. Application forms are still coming. 207 foreign participants (from 156 companies) and 89 Slovene companies met on the Slovene Tourist Stock Market last year. Since great interest has been shown The Slovene Tourist Board prepared an additional one-day and three-day study trip, from 19th to 21st October. Thus the participants of foreign tourist companies will get to know the areas of Idrija, Cerkno, Tolmin, Lipica Stables, Nova Gorica and the coastal district.
