Turkey, Croatia to compete in marine tourism

2000 was a satisfactory year for the Mediterranean`s marine tourism sector, according to Greek firm Vernicos<.> Yachts chairman George Vernicos.



Referring to competing destinations, he said he expected Turkey and Croatia would engage in stiff competition in 2001, as they are at the top of the field in terms of infrastructure in the region.



In relation to Greece, he said that the country was moving slowly in its efforts to upgrade marine infrastructure, marinas and services for recreational yacht owners.
