Greece continues to draw travellers and speciaist

Planet Holidays summer Greece programme covers 130 pages and introduced the island of Spetse plus added 20 new luxury properties.

The specialist tour operator Planet Holidays offers many luxurious 5-star hotels, resorts and villas, as well excellent value 3 and 4-stars properties and family friendly accommodation.

Agents looking for quality spa resorts and golf hotels or fly-drive options for their clients will also find plenty to choose from, along with villas, apartments and studios for those that prefer a quality self-catering option.

Planet Holidays continues to give agents the freedom to package up holidays as their clients want – with scheduled or charter flights, flight upgrades, private transfers or accommodation only and with short breaks of 3, 4 and 5 nights as well as longer 7, 10, 12 and 14-night holiday packages.

Planet Holidays are also one of only a handful of UK operators to offer island hopping options in the Greek Islands, including some of the lesser known islands. Destinations in Greece include Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Zante, Kefalonia, Skiathos, Santorini, Mykonos, Halkidiki, Thassos, Spetses, Peloponnese, Athens and Cape Sounio.

Summer 2013 Brochure Highlights for Greece include:

  • 20 new 4 and 5 star hotels and apartments in Crete, Rhodes, Corfu, Zante, Santorini, Mykonos, Halkidiki and Peloponnese  plus newly introduced – the island of Spetse
  • Introduction of former Thomson property The Archipelagos in Mykonos. Extra flights to Mykonos with Easyjet giving greater flexibility to travellers such as short breaks or longer stays
  • Infants (under two years of age) fly for a flat fee of £69 on all charter flights, plus free or discounted accommodation at many hotels and resorts

Harry Kyrillou, commercial and aviation director of Planet Holidays said: “It was good to meet Christina who has moved from her previous post in Australia’s GNTO to that of Director for UK & Ireland. We wish Christina and her team, despite the challenges – great success and continue, as a luxury specialist, to lend our support to Greece.

“Greece represent great value this year as many hoteliers, especially at the luxury end, have been proactive with superb added value saving throughout the season and those that have already released their rates for 2014, have kept these rates the same. This will encourage holidaymakers to continue to commit to a popular short haul destination and agents can offer their clients exceptional, quality holidays as Greece competes with other destinations to win holidaymakers back during these economically difficult times.

“I am very optimistic for 2014 given the support that Greece has received from UK travellers this year (many tour operators and hoteliers in Greece reporting 30-35% increases on 2012) and given the level of commitment by the hoteliers to maintain and sustain a pricing policy, which is making Greece competitive. For those looking for a wedding destination, Greece is hard to beat  – thanks to easy access, the quality of the hotels and wedding venue options right on the beach. Beach weddings continue to be the most popular option for UK couples looking to tie the knot abroad, our prices  (commissionable to agents) start from £1189.”
