New Tramada module automates reconciliation of non-ticket commissions

Maximises productivity by streamlining commission collection process, reducing administrative processing time by two-thirds.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Tramada Systems has introduced a new module for its tramada travel technology platform that automates reconciliation of non-ticket commissions, removing manual effort, increasing speed and accuracy, and dramatically improving efficiency in identifying/collecting commissions.

In every travel agency, today's slender profit margins make the accurate, timely collection of commissions from various non-ticketed segments (such as pre-paid or paid-direct hotel, car, and insurance segments) a business imperative that is directly linked to profitability.

The new tramada Non-Ticket Reconciliation module enables agencies to import a commission statement and quickly reconcile received commissions. It automates the process of linking booking numbers to segments in tramada, identifies non-ticket costings and any commission variances, autoadjusts commission amounts, and issues receipts.

In a typical instance, this automation will save two-thirds of the reconciliation processing time previously needed.

Additionally, the new module improves accuracy by removing human error and improving the process to effectively chase commissions, resulting in further increases in the efficiency of managing commission collection.

Penny Spencer, Managing Director of multi-award winning Spencer Travel, which was involved in the testing of the new module, reported major time savings and accuracy improvements. "Agent commission reconciliation is key to running a successful travel business, and it requires a great deal of effort and monitoring to make sure reconciliation matches up with accounting records. Preparing spreadsheets, locating booking numbers and adjusting commissions can take hours and hours of work," she said.

"The time savings and improvements in accuracy and efficiency we gain from Tramada's new module are profound by no longer having to manually reconcile creditor statements against individual bookings/segments and then having to perform the adjustments, receipts and bank deposits manually," said Spencer.

"More importantly, the module results in an admin team who are more productive, and, at the end of the day, a business benefiting from significantly greater efficiency," she said.

Susan Enners, Country Manager Australia and New Zealand of Tramada Systems, said, "This new module is another part of our product strategy to boost agency productivity and increase accuracy using the power of automation. Every time a manual process is automated, agencies enjoy a considerable efficiency gain, grow staff satisfaction, and, ultimately, build competitive advantage," Enners said.
