Nordic Outdoor held parallel with TUR’s public days in 2014

Nordic Outdoor, a buzzing, adrenaline pumping event with activities such as climbing, kayaking and roller skiing, was launched at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in May this year.

Nordic Outdoor
, the new event for adventure sports and outdoor activities, is to be held parallel with TUR’s public days in 2014. TUR is Scandinavia’s leading travel and tourism trade fair. The events take place at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre from 21–23 March.

Nordic Outdoor, a buzzing, adrenaline pumping event with activities such as climbing, kayaking and roller skiing, was launched at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre in May this year.

The event was held both indoors and outdoors, with some activities taking place at Valhalla stadium.

“It was a promising start that really whetted the appetite. Around 7,000 visitors is a good figure and we’ve received positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors. We will leverage this trust,” says Angela Anyai, exhibition manager for Nordic Outdoor.

The next Nordic Outdoor is expanding to occupy two exhibition floors.

The date is 21–23 Mach 2014, which means that Nordic Outdoor is to be held parallel with the public days of the travel and tourism fair TUR, with its nearly 35,000 visitors.

“We want to emphasise that these are still two separate events that are keen to maintain their uniqueness and brand. But obviously there are synergies especially as regards the public, indicating enormous public interest,” says Lisa Callert, Business Manager for Nordic Outdoor and TUR.

Martin Kossler, General Secretary of Scandinavian Outdoor Group, is very positive to the format: “There are major synergies between Nordic Outdoor and TUR. Outdoor sector players include product and activity companies as well as travel operators and destinations with an outdoor profile, which are also the target group for TUR visitors,” he says.

“This format provides the new event Nordic Outdoor with valuable exposure, while re-energising the well-established TUR and contributing popular activities.”
