Qatar Airways to add three additional weekly frequencies to Amman, Jordan in May

Additional frequencies will enable passengers from Jordan to connect seamlessly to Qatar Airways’ extensive global route network of more than 150 destinations. Also its award-winning Business Class seat, Qsuite, will make its China debut on flights to Shanghai from 15 May 2018.

DOHA, QATAR – Qatar Airways announced that it will add three additional weekly frequencies to Amman, the capital city of Jordan, commencing 2 and 3 May 2018. The additional frequencies, which arrive just in time for the summer holiday season, will increase the airline’s weekly services to Amman to 12.

Known for its unique blend of old and new, this bustling city is filled with restaurants, art galleries, traditional coffee shops and historic landmarks, catering to both business and leisure travellers. Amman also provides convenient access to Jordan’s many magnificent historic and natural sites, including Petra, Jerash, Wadi Rum, Aqaba and the Dead Sea.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “Qatar Airways is pleased to offer three additional weekly frequencies to Amman, a city which has proven to be in high demand by our passengers. Amman is constantly welcoming more travellers from all over the world, and we are delighted to provide increased services to our passengers who wish to visit Jordan during the summer. By offering three additional flights a week between Doha and Amman, passengers can now choose from a variety of departure and arrival timings throughout the day, providing them with increased flexibility in making their summer travel plans.”

The additional frequencies will also enable travellers from Jordan to connect seamlessly to Qatar Airways’ extensive global route network of more than 150 business and leisure destinations. Commencing on 2 May, QR400 will depart Doha at 16:40 and arrive in Amman at 19:40, with the same flight operated every Monday and Wedneday. On 3 May, QR402 will depart Doha at 08:25 and arrive in Amman at 11:25, and this will recur every Thursday.

Earlier this year, Qatar Airways revealed a host of forthcoming global destinations for 2018-19, in line with its expedited expansion plans, including London Gatwick and Cardiff, United Kingdom; Tallinn, Estonia; Valletta, Malta; Cebu and Davao, Philippines; Langkawi, Malaysia; Da Nang, Vietnam; Bodrum and Antalya, Turkey; Mykonos, Greece and Málaga, Spain.

Qatar Airways to Debut Award-Winning Qsuite on Shanghai Route from 15 May

Patented by Qatar Airways, Qsuite features the industry’s first-ever double bed available in Business Class and private cabins for up to four people with privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room, a first of its kind in the industry. Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the centre four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, allowing them to work, dine and socialise together. These new features provide the ultimate customisable travel experience that enables passengers to create an environment that suits their own unique needs.

Qsuite has set a new standard in luxury travel, and is already fast collecting awards since its launch at ITB Berlin last year. Earlier this month, Qatar Airways won a Crystal Cabin Award for 'Best Cabin Concept' in recognition of Qsuite’s innovative design. The award, announced at the Aircraft Interiors Exposition that took place in Hamburg, Germany, was decided by a jury of 28 international experts to distinguish pioneering on-board innovation by airlines.

Qatar Airways currently has 31 weekly flights to six mainland China gateways: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu.
