Sunshine.co.uk first to be granted ATOL with new Standard Trust Deed

The new ATOL Trust and the enhanced level of financial protection for sunshine.co.uk customers came into force on 12th November 2013.

Online travel agency sunshine.co.uk has achieved independence by becoming the first holiday company to be granted a Flight Plus ATOL utilizing the Civil Aviation Authority’s (“CAA”) new Standard ATOL Trust Deed. This gives consumers complete financial protection under both the terms of the Trust and of course the ATOL Scheme.

sunshine.co.uk has worked closely with the CAA  to achieve this and to meet the CAA’s financial and protection requirements by means of the Trust.

On being the first company to implement the new style Trust Deed Zoe Stewart, finance director of sunshine.co.uk, said: “As a company we are entirely focused on doing everything possible to help and support our customers and we are justifiably proud of the entire team who helped us to reach our goal of independence. We are providing our customers with the highest possible form of financial protection by means of the ATOL Trust.”

She continued: “I would like to thank the Civil Aviation Authority for their proactive help, support and guidance throughout this complex process.”

The new ATOL Trust and the enhanced level of financial protection for sunshine.co.uk customers came into force on 12th November 2013. Previously sunshine.co.uk customers were offered Flight Plus ATOL under their membership of a consortium.
