The best time to visit your favourite attractions revealed

As a general rule, mid-week is a must for visitors looking to avoid the masses.

International visitors and those preferring a ‘staycation’ make it to just about every corner of Britain during the year, which is great news for UK Tourism. However, the latest YouGov research shows that over a quarter (27%) of Britons are keen to avoid the queues at the UK’s most popular attractions and would prefer time slots for entry.

With little chance of timed entry slots in place for English Tourism Week, 30th March – 7th April 2019, how do you avoid the queues?  The Tourist Trail has done the hard work for you and researched the best days and times to avoid the crowds at some of the UK’s most popular tourist attractions.

As a general rule, mid-week is a must for visitors looking to avoid the masses. For example, if you plan to join an anticipated 1.5m visitors this year to one of the UK’s most popular tourist attractions, Stonehenge, research suggests you should visit at 4:00 pm on a Wednesday. In fact, Wednesday is the quietest day across most of the attractions (76%), meaning it is the best time for you to visit if you’re looking to avoid the queues.
