The team was formed in 2012 and oversees anti-corruption, human rights, sanctions, data protection and competitive law restrictions across TUI Travel’s portfolio of 220 brands, which in the UK includes Thomson, First Choice and Crystal Ski.

LONDON – TUI Travel PLC’s Group Legal and Regulatory Compliance team is celebrating a year of success. Having won Legal Team of the Year at the Modern Law Awards, awarded for exceptional achievements in teamwork, innovation and service, they were also recognised at the British Legal Awards as finalists for Inhouse Innovator of the Year 2014. In addition, Karis McLarty, Director of Group Compliance, was also awarded Compliance Innovator of the Year at the 10th Annual Thomson Reuters Compliance Awards, which celebrate talent whilst aiming to raise standards in the industry.

This follows on from the team becoming the first in the travel industry earlier this year to partner with Transparency International UK, to lead the industry in transparency and anti-corruption.

The team was formed in 2012 and oversees anti-corruption, human rights, sanctions, data protection and competitive law restrictions across TUI Travel’s portfolio of 220 brands, which in the UK includes Thomson, First Choice and Crystal Ski.

Karis McLarty, Director of Group Compliance (Legal & Regulatory), said “We are all delighted to have been recognised by our peers across the Compliance industry as leaders in our field. I am very proud of the team at Group level and of our Compliance officers across the Group, who have worked tirelessly to ensure we develop the TUI Travel PLC value of Leading Responsibly, and we look forward to building on these achievements next year.”
