Worldspan, announced the appointment of Gary Tofano to the position of director – Corporate Sales in the Worldwide Travel Distribution division. In this position, Tofano will manage business development opportunities with major North American corporations to further build Worldspan`s portfolio of corporate travel customers. Tofano will report to Cheryl Weldon, vice president – Strategic Accounts.
Gary`s strong background in travel industry sales and his demonstrated leadership ability will greatly contribute to the continued growth of
Worldspan`s corporate travel business, and we are delighted that he is rejoining our team, said Cheryl Weldon.
Prior to his current role, Tofano served in various sales management positions with Sabre Holdings, Inc. Before this, Tofano spent nearly a decade with
Worldspan in an array of management roles where he developed his expertise in travel distribution, e-commerce and travel suppliers for the global
distribution industry. Additionally, he created the sales and account management team which launched Worldspan Trip Manager(R) in the mid-1990s.
Tofano began his career in the airline industry with Trans World Airlines and Northwest Airlines. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana College.
