NCL has big news for the Big Apple as Norwegian Spirit left for her first cruise out of New York, supporting Norwegian Dawn as second year-round vessel for sailings from the metropolis. In the future the recently renovated Norwegian Spirit will offer different itineraries to the Caribbean, Florida, the Bahamas and to Bermuda. With the deployment of the second cruise resort from/to New York and additional itineraries, the cruise line reacts to the remarkably strong demand for cruises from New York.

In winter 2005/06, Norwegian Spirit will rotate Southern Caribbean itineraries out of her new home port. The itineraries call at St. Thomas, Antigua, Barbados, St. Maarten and Tortola, whereas the itineraries feature stops at the island of St. Thomas, Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Dominica and Tortola.

In early 2006, the ship begins rotating her itineraries from New York to the Bahamas and Florida. Ports of call include Miami and Port Canaveral (Orlando) as well as NCL’s private island Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau (Bahamas).

In summer 2006, Norwegian Spirit offers a new itinerary. From May through September the ship will rotate its Bahamas and Florida itinerary, taking passengers to Port Canaveral (Orlando), Miami and Great Stirrup Cay, with the new itinerary “Bermuda & Eastern Caribbean”. This new cruise will feature a day-long call in King’s Wharf (Bermuda) as well as a visit to St. Thomas and Tortola.

After offering her classical sailings to the Southern Caribbean in winter 2006/07, Norwegian Spirit operates the cruise “Big Apple & Eastern Caribbean” as of February 2007. On this itinerary, Norwegian Spirit will call at St. Thomas, Tortola and Samana in the Dominican Republic.

As well Norwegian Dawn will start with new itineraries and new ports of call into the season 2006/07. As of May 13, 2006, Norwegian Dawn will for the first time call at King’s Wharf (Bermuda). In addition, the cruise “New York, Bermuda & the Bahamas” features stops at Great Stirrup Cay and an overnight stay in Nassau (Bahamas).

Following her Canada and New England sailings in September 2006, Norwegian Dawn will offer another new itinerary. Beside Port Canaveral (Orlando), Norwegian Dawn will call at three ports in the Bahamas: Great Stirrup Cay, Nassau and Grand Bahama. As of November 26, 2006 the ship returns to its previously published Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries.
