International interest in spa tourism

Russian doctors recently visited the Loutraki<.> municipality to discuss what the area offers in the way of spa tourism.

Five doctors from major state medical facilities looked into the possibility of Russian healthcare funds subsidising the cost of hydrotherapy treatment at Loutraki for its contributors.

Members of the European anti-aging academy, which intends working with the US pensioners organisation, are scheduled to visit the coastal Peloponnese town on March 16.

Mr Sfaellos, chairman of Loutraki's state tourism development agency, sought the creation of an institutional framework within the EU in order to promote spa tourism subsidised by member-states' healthcare funds.

Loutraki municipality plans to participate in an international spa resort forum which will take place in Orlando in May.
