Global Travel Collection UK boosts employee and advisor wellbeing with Wellness Month through August

Wellness Month was implemented with the objective of directing the focus of employees and travel advisors towards their individual health and well-being. This initiative aims to enhance creative potential, mitigate the impacts of burnout and stress, and promote a more robust equilibrium between work and personal life.

LONDON – Global Travel Collection UK (GTC UK), part of Internova Travel Group, arranged a Wellness Month with a calendar of activities throughout the month of August.

Wellness Month was introduced with the aim to bring employee and travel advisors’ attentions to their personal health and wellbeing. This would help to boost creativity, reduce burnout and stress, and encourage a healthier work-life balance.

Activities included the re-establishment of a running club, Nutrition Discovery Talk and Body Composition Testing from SuperWellness, ‘Move It Week’ encouraging participants to increase their step count, express massages, a fresh juice and healthy snack station, ‘Gratitude Week’ where colleagues were given the opportunity to share something they were grateful for. The month was concluded with a movement and guided conversation workshop from Movement Artist, David Kam, to explore how to maintain a wellness practice of longevity and sustainability beyond the month of August. The activities were held at GTC UK’s headquarters in London and made inclusive to those working remotely.

“We recognise especially post-pandemic, the importance of keeping the conversation active about wellness and mental health. The travel industry is well known for being a fast-paced and ever-changing environment and we are pleased to have been able to implement a month of wellness at GTC UK,” said Managing Director, Jason Oshiokpekhai.

We’ve also had great feedback following the month, and new ideas for future wellbeing activities. GTC UK are committed to providing year-round support for wellbeing and understand that the health and happiness of our teams are crucial for both personal and professional growth.”
