Macdonald Resorts Ltd, is opening a new resort and spa in the Monchique Mountains of the Portuguese Algarve. After a 5-million-euro renovation, Macdonald Monchique Hotel & Spa is opening to the public on 1 June 2016.

The new Macdonald Monchique Resort & Spa offers a range of dining options across its four restaurants including an informal petiscos (Portuguese tapas) bar, a pizzeria, a gourmet food market and a fine-dining restaurant specialising in local fish and wines. The area of Monchique is known as the garden of the Algarve; rich with unique flora and fauna, it is surrounded by ancient cork forests.
