The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) announces two additions to the Corporate Advisory Council (CAC). The most recent companies to join the CAC are Hickory Travel Systems, represented by Alfred J. Luthy, vice president of hotel programs, and Virtuoso, represented by Matthew D. Upchurch, president and CEO.

The Corporate Advisory Council is one way ASTA maintains a strong voice on the major national issues within the travel industry and with the government, said ASTA President and CEO Richard M. Copland, CTC. Hickory and Virtuoso are invested in the success of their networks of individual agencies, so it`s a perfect fit. We look forward to serving the travel agency community together.

The CAC, composed of representatives of major travel agency consortia, franchise organizations and independent agencies, works with ASTA on issues of common interest to the retail travel agent community, with particular focus on legislation, government regulation and industry relations.

ASTA`s newest CAC members, Hickory Travel Systems and Virtuoso, are widely regarded as leaders within the travel industry. Virtuoso is an exclusive network of 264 independent upscale travel agencies. Hickory Travel Systems provides its global network of independent travel agencies the tools and services needed to grow their businesses.
