On September 14, the resort will debut the Woodford Reserve Talking Stick Resort Personal Selection Bourbon, available exclusively at Shadows Lounge.
SALT RIVER PIMA- A trip to Talking Stick Resort is a true sensory experience for guests. In addition to eye-opening views and the smell of fresh food from world-class restaurants, comfortable accommodations and shows for every music fan, the resort is now giving guests an actual “taste” of luxury.
“Each of the distinguished flavors were tasted, selected and combined by us for the guests of Talking Stick Resort,” said Lyle Bighorn, director of food and beverage at Talking Stick Resort. “Our Personal Selection bourbon is another exciting way we are enhancing the one-of-a-kind experience we offer.”
The finely crafted American bourbon is the only one of its kind, created by Talking Stick Resort representatives, including Bighorn. The group traveled to the Woodford Reserve Distillery in Kentucky to collaborate with master distiller, Chris Morris. The team worked to create distinct and flavorful bourbon for everyone to enjoy.
The legendary Woodford Reserve is the oldest distillery in Kentucky, and for more than 200 years has been crafting some of the world’s finest bourbons. As the slowest working distillery, its long processing time allows drink flavors to fully develop into a noticeably richer taste. In the Talking Stick Resort Personal Selection Bourbon, guests will find a combination of pecan, malt, citrus and rye characters, complemented by the sweet taste of brown sugar, chocolate and spices.
“Sip slowly to taste and smell the calming floral and citrus aromas, hints of cocoa and spices that tingle the senses,” said Morris. He is responsible for maintaining the award-winning taste of each Woodford Reserve product. “I love keeping involved with the crafting of the brand.”
Talking Stick Resort will host three exclusive tastings of the bourbon in Shadows on Sept. 14 at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. The following month, Talking Stick Resort will welcome master distiller, Chris Morris to a private dinner at Orange Sky, the property’s signature restaurant. During the dinner, he will discuss his craft and educate guests on the fine art of distilling.
Additionally the property has created a customized drink menu to take full advantage of Talking Stick Resort’s Personal Selection Bourbon. The menu includes eight specialty drinks including Woodford Reserve Latte Manhattan, Woodford Reserve Blackberry Manhattan and Woodford Reserve Long Shot.
