SkyWest Airlines earns top reliability honors

Recognized as Bombardier's most reliable CRJ operator in North America.

ST. GEORGE, UTAH – SkyWest Airlines, a subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc., has once again been recognized by Bombardier for delivering exceptional reliability with the manufacturer’s top honor: the 2012 annual Airline Reliability Performance Award. SkyWest Airlines has received Bombardier’s Airline Reliability Performance Award for the third year running for the CRJ200, and was newly awarded for the CRJ700 and CRJ900 this year, sweeping all product categories.

“The CRJ Reliability Performance Award is a fantastic recognition of the hard work our teams are doing to complete more than 1,800 flights every day across North America,” said SkyWest Airlines President and COO Russell “Chip” Childs. “SkyWest Airlines has a long track record of solid operational performance and I couldn’t be more proud of our more than 10,000 aviation professionals who consistently deliver reliable results.”

Todd Young, vice president of customer services and support for Bombardier Commercial Aircraft, added, “Congratulations to your management team and all employees who contribute tirelessly to SkyWest’s operational excellence.”

Bombardier’s reliability award recipients are selected from operators of Q-Series turboprops and CRJ regional jets that have achieved at least 99 percent dispatch reliability throughout the year. For 2012, SkyWest achieved the highest dispatch reliability in North America for both the CRJ100/200 and CRJ700/900/1000 categories. SkyWest has previously earned the top honors for the CRJ100/200 category in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

As a leading air service provider offering global access to millions of people each month, SkyWest partners with the world’s largest network carriers including United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, US Airways, American Airlines and Alaska Airlines. With a fleet of 327 aircraft, including 285 CRJ200, 700 and 900s, SkyWest’s more than 10,000 aviation professionals operate more than 1,800 flights each day to 171 destinations throughout North America. SkyWest has also been awarded the FAA’s AMT Gold Award for maintenance training five times, most recently in 2012. SkyWest also received the AMT Diamond award in 2006. The airline is headquartered in St. George, Utah.
