FEDHASA talks energy solutions and financing inpartnership with Nedbank

FEDHASA Inland, in partnership with Nedbank, to host event offering solutions to mitigate the impact of the energy crisis on the hospitality industry.

JOHANNESBURG – Following FEDHASA’s successful first event in the series: ‘Talking Energy with FEDHASA’, held in Cape Town earlier this year, the second event in the series will be taking place in Johannesburg on 26 June 2023.

In partnership with Nedbank, the event brings together the hospitality sector, energy experts and alternative energy providers along with funding experts to discuss solutions to business survival in light of the escalating energy crisis in South Africa.

While the first event unpacked the issues with which the hospitality industry is struggling, the second will focus on solutions and what businesses can do to mitigate the impact of loadshedding and safeguard their futures.

Panels and sessions throughout the day will examine the long-term outlook for the hospitality industry: energy experts will offer advice and information about energy alternatives and how businesses can tackle loadshedding, while funding experts will discuss available financing options.

Attendees will also hear from energy providers spearheading an answer to the energy crisis, Nedbank economist, Liandra da Silva, and Craig Sauls, programme manager at the Industrial Development Corporation, who will speak about the Green Tourism Incentive Programme.

An additional element on the sidelines of the event, will be the opportunity to engage with alternative energy providers and be introduced to various options in an interactive format.

Says FEDHASA National Chairperson Rosemary Anderson: “Our intention with this second event is to address the energy crisis from a solutions perspective by showcasing what is possible and viable for hospitality businesses to remain afloat. With the industry still in recovery phase and the energy crisis severely impacting our ability to build back stronger, the event comes at a time when we need to be instrumental in instigating changes and solutions.”

‘Talking Energy with FEDHASA’ will be hosted at Nedbank’s head office located at 135 Rivonia Road, Sandton, Johannesburg, on 26 June 2023.
