Award for Outstanding Achievements in furthering business travel and meetings sustainability programs.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — The GBTA Foundation, the education and research foundation of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and Project ICARUS are proud to announce the winners of the first Sustainability Outstanding Achievement Awards.
The awards recognize travel buyers, suppliers and intermediaries who can demonstrate outstanding leadership, innovation and commitment to delivering best in class sustainability programs, products and services across North America.
“The quality of entries exceeded our expectation and clearly demonstrates that companies in North America are seeing sustainable business travel and meetings programs as a sure way to optimize travel costs and generate a significant return on investment,” said Bernard Harrop, head of sustainability Project ICARUS.

The winners were presented with their Project ICARUS bronze trophy at the GBTA Foundation, Annual Gala Dinner & Silent Auction held on Monday, March 18 2013, at the Marriott Marquis in New York.
Vicky is the co-founder of TravelDailyNews Media Network where she is the Editor-in Chief. She is also responsible for the daily operation and the financial policy. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Tourism Business Administration from the Technical University of Athens and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
She has many years of both academic and industrial experience within the travel industry. She has written/edited numerous articles in various tourism magazines.
