ROME – Actors, acrobats, musicians, multidisciplinary performers immersed in dreamlike and rarefied universes: they will animate, from July 18 to October 13, 2024, for the first time ever, the
stage of the historic Teatro Goldoni with “Titizé. A Venetian Dream,” the official show of the City of Venice.

After the presentation in Milan at the International Tourism Exchange with the Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro, it is now Rome’s turn. This morning, inside the Cinema Room of the Europa Experience – David Sassoli in Rome, the press conference was held for what will be the official show of the City of Venice for the next two years.

“Titizé. A Venetian Dream” is an international project produced by the cultural institution of reference in the area, one of Italy’s most important theater companies, the Fondazione Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale, together with the Compagnia Finzi Pasca and in partnership with the Compagnia Melina Balsamo. The event will enliven the stage of the historic Venetian theater during the summer months, recently restored by the municipal administration, coinciding with the celebrations for its 400th anniversary.

Giampiero Beltotto, President of the Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale, Daniele Finzi Pasca, author and director of the show as well as co-founder of the eponymous company based in Lugano, Switzerland, who in his 40 years of international activity has created over 40 shows, including 3 Olympic ceremonies, 2 shows for Cirque du Soleil, and 8 operas, which have been performed on the stages of about 600 theaters and festivals in 46 countries around the world, seen by over 15 million spectators. Finally, Hugo Gargiulo, set designer, and Maria Bonzanigo, composer of the music to be performed by the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto, both founding members of the company, discussed their contribution to the production, while costume designer Giovanna Buzzi explained the peculiarities of the combination of costumes and scenes.

“We have months of hard work ahead of us, but we are proud to present a project designed for the international stage of Venice, a theater that has recently turned 400 years old, in which the City of Venice has invested to restore it to the public in its ancient splendor,” comments Giampiero Beltotto, President of the Fondazione Teatro Stabile del Veneto – Teatro Nazionale. “Created together with the Compagnia Finzi Pasca, a company known worldwide and capable of making theater through a universal language, the show will, however, rework the rich tradition of Venetian theater and the history of the city of Venice. Three months, a long duration, for an idea full of enthusiasm, for a theater made of fun.”

The show was presented to tourism operators from all over the world at major tourism fairs in Italy, from TTG in Rimini to BIT in Milan, and in Europe, from WTM in London to ITB in Berlin. After the performances at the Teatro Goldoni in Venice, where it will be staged from July 18 to October 13, 2024, every week from Thursday to Sunday, “Titizé.
