Unfortunately, in most parts of the world, you are likely at some point or other to be faced with a totally miserable Thursday afternoon during your lifetime. Generally, the miserable Thursday afternoons that spring to mind are wet, windy, and cold, but you may have a different kind of miserable Thursday afternoon where you are.
However, the point of this article is not to get you down about the weather, but to get you thinking of how you can enjoy your time while the weather is bad, either with friends or while being on your own and having a full run of the house and the entertainment center within it.
Enjoy the hospitality of your local bar
It is possible that you have a bar in your area that you frequent; however, if you do not have one, then perhaps it is time that you adopted your local bar and called it your own. There are many advantages to having a local bar to go and hang out in with friends or even on your own. You will soon get to know the friendly bar staff, and you may even find that you have a hidden store of friends or like-minded drinking buddies just waiting to enjoy your company.
Depending on what type of bar it is, you may find that there are clubs or social events going on that you could get involved in, such as billiard, or darts club, or a TV to watch football or basketball in the evenings.
Immerse yourself in an online game
In order to forget the drab weather outside, you may feel that you would rather stay in the warm and not go down the local bar but instead immerse yourself in some online gaming. There are plenty of adult online games that can be played very conveniently on your cell phone too, so you will not need any extra equipment such as computers.
You may wish to play the long-drawn-out RPG games if you feel that you have a lot of time to spare, or you may think that you would rather play the quicker but no less enjoyable online casino games, which are perfect for those that like a little more entertainment from their gaming time.
Rewatch your favorite old TV series
However, you may be thinking that even this is too much of an effort on your part and actually what you would really like to do is rewatch all the episodes of your favorite TV series while you have custody of the TV or if you have some earbuds, download the series to your cell phone and engross yourself fully into a world that has fond memories for you away from the hustle and bustle of the family area.
Obviously, what will make this even more enjoyable for you is to have your favorite snack or beverage close by so that you do not have to move from your warm spot unless you really want to.
