Interior design specialists from the United Kingdom, Germany and the UAE have confirmed their places in a growing international line-up of exhibitors taking part in The Hotel Show<.> 2002, to be held in Dubai from May 20 to 22.

Fabrics and wall covering manufacturer, Skopos Design of Yorkshire, England, will introduce a new fabric collection which is a major component of its 2002 product range for the Middle East, according to marketing manager, Claire Mountford.

Using The Hotel Show to expand its penetration of the Middle East is Peters Design, producers and worldwide distributors of energy saving decorative and technical lightings, said general sales manager, Hans-Werner Lange, from the company's head office at Rintelsn, Germany.

Sharjah-based furniture and interiors specialists, Haseeb Rasoul Company, brings its 40 years of experience of furnishing Middle East palaces and five star hotels to the show, with the added benefit that visitors will be eligible for attractive Show prices for its exclusive furniture range, said managing director, Faysal Rasoul.

"Bookings for stands indicate that we will see a significantly bigger and more diverse show than last year," said Joanne Evans, director of Streamline Marketing, organisers of the three-day exhibition taking place at Airport Exp Dubai. "All areas of hotel decoration and furnishing are going to be on display."

Foreign participation in the show has been boosted recently by the announcement of strong official endorsement by the British, American and Northern Irish trade authorities.

The Hotel Show is held under the patronage of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE Minister of Defence, and chairman of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. The Show was acquired by dmg World Media, a subsidiary of FTSE100 company The Daily Mail & General Trust plc last year, and is already benefiting from ambitious international marketing initiatives in the wake of the buyout.

Four new national pavilions, representing Thailand, Lebanon, Taiwan and the Philippines, have been confirmed, bringing a substantial number of exhibitors from those countries. The US, Germany, South Africa, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Australia and Hong Kong have once again taken pavilions.

A feature of The Hotel Show 2002 will be The Office Show next door, which addresses the rapidly expanding demand for office development supplies in the Middle East.

Last year, The Hotel Show attracted 115 exhibitors representing more than 200 companies from 13 countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, the GCC, North America and South Africa. The event also attracted over 3,500 quality visitors from the Middle East hotel industry.

The Hotel Show's international exhibitor line-up will include manufacturers in air conditioning, audio visual, video conferencing and sound systems, bathroom supplies and bed linen, building materials, cutlery and crockery, carpeting and curtains. Also on show will be producers of computer hardware and software, fitness, spa and pool equipment, buses, vans and limousines, landscaping services, management and reservations systems, telecommunications systems, uniforms, and dozens of other products and services vital to a hotel's day-to-day running.
