The Banco Popular Group and the Globalia Corporation and owners of Air Europa, Halcon Viajes, Viajes Ecuador, Travelplan, pepecar.com, Century 21 Spain and other companies belonging to Globalia tourism and leisure enterprise, have reached an agreement whereby Banco Popular will take a 9.9% ownership stake of Globalia.
The investment agreement formalized today between the Chairman of the Board of Grupo Banco Popular, Francisco Fernandez Dopico, and the Chairman of the Board of Globalia, Juan Jose Hidalgo, grants Banco Popular a 9.9% ownership stake in the capital of the Globalia Corporation, a strategical transaction for Globalia in order to consolidate their presence as the leading Tourism and Leisure Enterprise in Spain.
Globalia`s Chairman of the Board, Juan Jose Hidalgo, shared his satisfaction for the new shareholders of the group, highlighting that the transaction demonstrates the confidence that Banco Popular has in the management of Globalia, which will now have a solid financial partner, financial entity of which Angel Ron is President.
Globalia Corporation is a travel and leisure enterprise in Spain primarily consisting of Air Europa Airlines, Halcon Viajes and Viajes Ecuador travel agencies, Travel Plan and Touring Club tour operators, Century 21 Spain, Pepecar.com car rentals, Globalia Airport Handling Services, Ground Transportation, Hotels, Cruises, Print Shop, Contact Center and other vertically supportive business units which generate three billion euros in annual revenues.
