Just in time to kick-off the Summer travel season

Barcelo’s Mexican resorts are open for business

After less than one month, Barcelo Tucancun Beach, Cancun, and Barcelo Maya Tropical Beach, Riviera Maya, have re-opened their doors, welcoming back travelers to two of Mexico’s most sought-after destinations.

"With the re-opening of these properties, we now have all of our all-inclusive hotels in Mexico ready and open for business, just in time for the busy summer travel season" said Claudio Zboznovits, vice president of Barcelo Hotels & Resorts sales and marketing in the U.S. and Canada. "These re-openings, coupled with never-before-seen deals, are signaling to travelers and the rest of the industry that now is the best time to come back and explore all that Mexico and Barcelo have to offer."

Located on one of the best beaches in Cancun, Barcelo Tucancun Beach officially re-opened on June 1, 2009. This all-inclusive, family-favorite resort is located in Cancun’s famous "Hotel Zone," nestled between the waters of the Laguna Nichupte and the Caribbean Sea. Whether you are hoping to dance all night long at Cancun’s famous dance clubs or wanting to enjoy a more quiet holiday in a paradisiacal retreat, the choice is there. Your kids will be well taken care of, as family entertainment is fully provided. Guests can also enjoy a variety of water sports as well as three outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art spa and beauty salon, five bars and four dining establishments, including international buffets and fine dining, a la carte restaurants.

For couples and families seeking the best of the Mexican Riviera, the all-inclusive Barcelo Maya Tropical Beach, one of the hotels within the luxurious five-in-one Barcelo Maya Beach Resort, re-opened its doors on June 4, 2009. The resort offers a postcard-worthy backdrop of lush, tropical landscapes and white sands bathed by the crystalline waters of the Caribbean Sea. Ideally located between the sizzle of Cancun and the intriguing ruins of Tulum, this Club Premium Barcelo resort boasts a family entertainment program, two kids’ clubs, a 16,000 square-foot spa and wellness facility and an extravagant array of dining options, from delectable a la carte restaurants to exquisite buffets. On-site activities include seven lit tennis courts, in-pool aqua aerobics, snorkeling, kayaking, diving, mini golf, beach volleyball, sailing and windsurfing.

Another offering in Barcelo’s expansive portfolio of all-inclusive Mexican hotels is the Barcelo Maya Beach and Caribe, which is currently undergoing scheduled renovation. This hotel, also located within the five-in-one Barcelo Maya Beach Resort, closed its doors for renovation in mid-April and is scheduled to re-open in the fall of 2009. The resort is the only Barcelo property in Mexico that is currently unavailable for guests.

After renovation the resort’s famous Mayan design will remain intact; however, each room will receive new, plush and luxuriously modern amenities, including:
– A flat screen television
– A digital, laptop-sized safety deposit box
– New Simon’s Grand Dubai bedding, offering one of the best night’s sleep in the Riviera Maya
– A sofa bed in every standard room
– A pampering rain shower.
