Best Western again named 'Best of the Web' by Compuware

Best Western's honors are due to its outstanding website performance throughot 2012.

PHOENIX – Best Western International‘s bestwestern.com earned both Compuware‘s Best of the Web Gold Award and the Last Mile Leader Award for the travel industry for the second straight year. The fourth annual Compuware Application Performance Awards showcase the leaders in web and mobile site performance across several major industries nationwide.

Best Western’s honors are due to its outstanding website performance throughout 2012. Compuware benchmarks measure three key web performance metrics – response time, availability and consistency. Best Western’s website performance continues to improve with the launch of the redesigned bestwestern.com in fall 2012.

“Six years ago, we set an ambitious goal – to consistently have the best-performing site in the industry,” said Scott Gibson, Best Western’s senior vice president of distribution and chief information officer. “We focused the team on that goal, and gave them the resources, tools, and latitude they needed to pursue it, and we celebrate our successes, which include leading our industry in providing a superior online experience.”

“Users’ expectations for their online experience continue to grow. They expect sites to be engaging and interactive while also being available, fast, and consistent, regardless of the device and browser they use, where they are located, or their connection type,” said John Van Siclen, general manager of Compuware’s APM business unit. “These expectations are being driven by their experiences with Internet leaders like Best Western that have set the standard for delivering Web experiences that meet users’ expectations.”

Available on February 21, the “Best of the Web: 2102 Compuware Application Performance Awards” report showcases the leaders in site performance across six industries – retail, banking, brokerage, travel, media, and insurance – based on Compuware’s performance benchmark analysis in 2012. The report highlights how each award winner sets the industry standard for providing a Web or mobile site experience that enhances customer satisfaction.
