Carlson Hotels Worldwide announced that Terry Logsdon has been appointed vice president of development for the Southeast region of the United States. In his new role, Logsdon is responsible for seeking and securing managed, owned and franchised opportunities, as well as joint-venture and acquisition business for the company`s full-service hotel brands:
Regent International Hotels, Radisson Hotels & Resorts and Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts.
Logsdon reports to Bill Sipple, corporate vice president of development for full- service hotels in the Americas, Carlson Hotels Worldwide.
Terry`s success in hotel development is due in large part to the relationships he has built with hotel property owners, developers, operators and consultants, said Sipple. He has comprehensive knowledge of franchising, having secured business with multi-unit owners and single-unit franchisees. We are impressed with Terry`s strong skills in sourcing, qualifying and closing development deals, and expect great things from him in the future, added Sipple.
Logsdon has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 30 years. His experience spans franchise sales, real estate development, regional management and hotel operations.Throughout his career, he has held several executive positions with world- renowned hospitality companies, whose brands include Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton.
Most recently, Logsdon served as the director of franchise and real estate development for InterContinental Hotels Group of Atlanta, Ga. In this position, he was responsible for all development activity for the InterContinental and Crowne Plaza brands in the Southeast region of the United States (including 11 states, the District of Columbia and the Caribbean).
Prior to this, Logsdon was a regional vice president for Hilton Hotels Corporation, where he managed the brand`s franchise business in a nine-state region that consisted of more than 50 hotels. In addition to directing regional staff in two divisions located in Florida and Georgia, Logsdon was responsible for operations support, system compliance, development and owner relations.
Logsdon held several regional executive management positions while at Hilton, including vice president development, director of project coordination and director of operations. Additionally, Logsdon held property operations positions at Hilton-managed hotels in Kansas City; Chicago; Washington, D.C.; and Atlanta.
Logsdon resides in Dunwoody, Ga., and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University.
