The Westin Columbus reveals first phase of renovation to the historic hotel

Modern amenities will marry with original design elements providing guests with both the most up to date technological innovations and an ambiance that captures the romance of a bygone era.

COLUMBUS, OH – The renovation of the Westin Columbus is rolling out in carefully orchestrated phases. The final product will reveal a hotel that artfully blends contemporary and classic styles. Modern amenities will marry with original design elements providing guests with both the most up to date technological innovations and an ambiance that captures the romance of a bygone era.

The lobby and public space renovation has been completed. The newly designed lobby is a terrific space for guests to gather and relax. The aesthetic affords an inviting backdrop for shared meals, reading, playing board games, connecting on the new lobby computers and interacting with fellow travelers and the hotel team. A vertical garden, “living wall” is one of the center points in the lobby. The vertical garden is a unique focal element of the new Westin lobby concept designed to improve indoor air quality and create a calming, more natural environment. Westin is the first global brand to incorporate these structures in the lobby space throughout its global portfolio. The vertical garden at the Westin Columbus was custom-designed and integrates wall-mounted plant modules with infill panels of unique textured materials inspired by the hotel’s interior architecture. Guests have responded very favorable commenting that they find the atmosphere welcoming, inviting and soothing.

The meeting space has been upgraded to guarantee optimum efficiency for groups of all sizes. Connectivity has been greatly enhanced with high speed Internet and convenient wireless capability throughout the public space. The boardroom’s new expansive conference table and 50″ monitor make it an ideal location for smaller functions.

These colors will be incorporated throughout the hotel as the renovation expands to unveil spectacular new Guest Rooms and Hallway Corridors.
